Olivia's First Easter

Another successful Easter! The bunny came and hid the girls' baskets. He did a great job with Gabriella's-- it took her awhile to find it. We went to a celebration a the clubhouse, which was pretty lame and cold, but there was a bouncy castle so the girls at least got some exercise. We watched some Easter movies, ate candy, and had a nice day together as a family. No major melt-downs or craziness, which always makes mommy happy.

Singing, talking, and basically showing-off her Chinese ability in the presentation. It was super awesome seeing her interact with her Chinese teacher. We're so thankful she gets this experience of learning a new language in a fun way...

Olivia had her first bath with her big sister and it went REALLY good. I was watching the girls by myself and haven't attempted this yet, so I was pleasantly surprised. All three girls are water babies--yay!

Email below from Gabby's Kindergarten Teacher

Dear KCI families,

Did you know that during the past 3 weeks your child has been working tirelessly on creating a beautiful book as a gift for children with cleft lip? They asked me to find out how they could give the book to a child to enjoy and "make them feel happy." This is a project that the children thought up on their own and worked on independently over several days, adding a bit more to their project every day. It just so happens that it is Smile Week in the Middle School this week. During Smile Week, the Middle School raises funds and awareness to support a foster hospital that helps treat children with cleft palette. Tomorrow, Middle School will be having an assembly where a representative from the organization that helps spearhead this worthy cause will attend.

When I asked Mr. Fidler in the Middle School how we could get the KCI children's book to a child, he suggested that we come to the assembly and present the book to the organization directly. The children know nothing about this yet! I plan to tell them tomorrow morning. We will be going to the assembly and presenting at 3:00. I will update you on the location tomorrow morning if you wish to come and watch. We will only be there for about 2 or 3 minutes at most before we have to return to class.

I hope you are as proud of the children as I am for their commitment to a project that was embarked upon for the sole purpose of making another person happy.

I preface this first by saying that these pictures are horrible quality... Next time, bring the good camera. the light in the theatre is hard. 

Anyway, all of the Kindergarten classes worked together on a musical performance. Gabby's class did a rendition of "Billy Goats Gruff." It was super cute!

First Emergency Room Visit

My little ballerina girl, Gabriella, was twirling around at Gym'Nees and smacked her chin on the ground. Nobody really knows how she did this, but she busted it open pretty good-- so off to the E/R we went. Everybody was super helpful while I grabbed all our stuff and headed out the door. I dropped off Isabelle (luckily our new ayi, Cherry, was there) and picked up Travis (he gets to sleep-in on Sundays) and we headed to the downtown BJU hospital, which is the same one all three girls were born.

Four stitches later, Gabriella was good as new. We had some ice-cream and went out for lunch. We rarely go out with just the three of us, so that was nice. :)
